In addition to our Strategic Plan, Basic Image identified three emphasis areas that received poor ratings in the Quality of Life in Hawaii 2009 Report.
Priority Issue #1 Obesity and Physical Activity
The Honolii Paka Pull 2010
Obesity and Physical Activity. Basic Image addresses the overweight - lack of physical activity epidemic by strengthening the ability of individuals to make healthy choices about diet and exercise. Through its revitalization program, Basic Image increases access to suitable physical fitness options for surfers and non-surfers.
Priority Issue #2 Drug Education and Awareness
Our Information and Education Tent
Drug and Education and Awareness. Basic Image promotes and supports community-based programs and collaborative grass-roots efforts that provide drug-free lifestyle education and substance abuse prevention measures for community members of all ages.
Priority Issue #3 Child Abuse and Neglect
Marshall & Carol and their kids volunteer!
Child Abuse and Neglect. One of the protective measures we can all take to lower incidences of child abuse and neglect is to build stronger social networks. Basic Image has a Family Volunteer Program to encourage and engage families in our community-oriented projects. Through volunteer activities, families enrich their relationships with one another, improves family connection. It strengthens communities and helps create a new generation of dedicated volunteers.
